Lot#: 261

DESCRIPTION: WW - E. Howard by Hamilton, manual wind, 23mm x 38mm to lug tips, 16mm lug width, original gold-filled snap back case, original brown leather strap signed Hamilton, original silvered dial with black enamel painted indices, 17J cal H980, s#HW613, triple signed. An exceptionally rare Hamilton from a very unusual time in the company's history. In 1931, Hamilton purchased the Howard trademark with the intent of using it someday. By 1946, their trademark was about to lapse and as such they produced a short run of Hamilton watches signed Howard. Very few were made, and even less survive in such untouched condition as this present example. Includes the original inner and outer boxes with matching serial number label to outer box; note the movement serial number matches but the case serial number is 9 off, which is very likely a mismatch that happened at the factory.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork, light fine scratches to plates; nearly flawless dial with light surface spotting; excellent-plus hands; lightly polished case shows little wear, light tarnish to gold-filled case would polish off with a light rouge cloth rubbing, no dents or dings; crown shows little wear; good glass crystal. Inner and outer boxes show little wear.
ESTIMATE: $800 - $1600
